How we decide what a quote should cost
Every QualityQuotes AI audit runs through the same five-stage pipeline. Nothing is hand-tuned per customer. Nothing is hidden behind a "the AI said so". This page is the source of truth — the same process applies whether you're a homeowner checking a $400 plumbing bill or a procurement team reviewing a $400,000 vendor contract.
Scope intake
We parse your input into a structured job: industry, location, scope, materials hints, urgency, and any constraints you mention.
- →Natural-language quote parsing
- →Industry classification across 22 categories
- →Location resolution → regional cost basis
Cost decomposition
The job is broken into six standard cost components so we can compare apples to apples — not lump sums.
- →Labor hours × regional rate
- →Materials at trade pricing
- →Equipment, permits, overhead, profit margin
Market benchmarking
We compare every component against real industry ranges for your region and project size.
- →Low / market average / high ranges
- →Regional multiplier (city or state)
- →Comparable-project size adjustment
Risk scoring
Beyond price, we score the quote against known scam patterns and contract red flags.
- →Scam-pattern matching
- →Scope-ambiguity detection
- →Upfront-payment pressure flags
Analyst explanation
The output is a plain-English report you can send to your client, contractor, or insurer — with the math attached.
- →Fair-price recommendation + range
- →0–100 confidence with tier label
- →What to do next: counter-offer, walk away, sign
Confidence scoring
Every audit ships with a 0–100 confidence score and a tier label. We compute it from data completeness, scope clarity, market depth in the industry, and regional sample density.
Risk model
We classify every quote into Low, Moderate, or High risk. Risk is independent of price — a perfectly priced quote can still carry risk flags (e.g. vague scope, missing materials list, upfront-payment pressure).
Scope clear, price within range, contractor signals normal, no scam patterns detected.
Price slightly off market, or one input is missing, or terms include unusual clauses.
Price far from market, scope ambiguous, or pattern matches known scam playbooks.
Neutrality & audit trail
No paid placements
We don't sell leads to contractors. We don't take a cut of any job. The same math runs whether you're the buyer or the seller.
Tamper-proof audit IDs
Every report has a unique audit ID. Anyone with the link re-fetches the report from our servers — screenshots can't be forged.
